Spending a few days at a remote, backcountry cabin is a unique experience. Life is simple – Ski, eat, sleep. Repeat ! Our guides can join you for a trip you have booked, or join in on one of ours. Let us take the guesswork out of logistics, routefinding, tracksetting, and snowpack evaluation so you focus on the skiing.
Here’s an example of a local trip we offer most winters….
Babine Mountains Provincial Park – Joe L’Orsa Cabin
Located on the east side of the Bulkley Valley, the Babine Mountain Park is our version of the Rockies. An easy day approach will bring us to the Joe L’Orsa Cabin. Mid April will be spring skiing with long days and sunshine.
Some local objectives and ski routes include
- Cronin, Hyland & Galleon Summits
- Reiseter & Cronin Glaciers
- Silver King Basin
This is a multi-day overnight trip, and guests will have to provide food and overnight equipment.
Dates: As Available, Spring 2019
Group Size: Up to 6 guests
Prerequisites: Guests must be fit, intermediate skiers capable of skiing in/out to hut with overnight pack
Price: $699.00/ person ( Based on 4 guests) *Guiding Fees Include park permits and group gear.

Smithers Area Spring Base Camp
Join us for a 4 day, helicopter access spring basecamp. We will set up at one of our favorite glacier areas that offer reliable, high alpine spring skiing. This will be a tent based multi day trip.

Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue Course
Early season skiing! Get out with our guides, enjoy fresh powder, tune up your touring skills, or practice your avalanche rescue.
The Galleon - Guided Trip
This spring classic goes deep into the Babine Mtns Park. Conditions dependent, we will ski one of the classic couloirs visible from town.Trip participants must be very fit, and able to travel a long day of @ 30km & 1600m ascent.
The 7000' - Guided Trip
The complex alpine tour starts from the ski area, through Big Simpsons Gulch, and down the Kathlyn Face. Participants must be strong and fit skiers. Early starts are required for this tour. This trip is very condition and weather dependent.
Rocher Deboule Range Spring Basecamp
We will fly into the rugged Rocher Deboule Range and set up camp for the weekend. Participants will need to provide their own winter camping equipment, and should have previous experience with spring ski camping
